Recently, to promote exchange and cooperation between China and the UK in the agricultural sector, the British Consulate General in Shanghai hosted an exchange event. Huikang Foods, as the first domestic pre-prepared meal enterprise to obtain BRC certification from the UK, was invited to attend. Among these, it is the largest domestic exporter of beef tendon products, holding a market share of over 40% in Japan for similar products. Our company operates its own Wagyu cattle ranch in New Zealand and has more than a hundred contracted breeding farms worldwide, supplying numerous high-end catering systems globally. Faced with an increasingly competitive market, Huikang Foods has continuously raised standards and strengthened management over the past decade-plus, refining thousands of detailed operational practices. In 2022, Huikang was the first Chinese pre-prepared meal company to obtain dual international food standards certifications—both the UK’s BRC and IFS. The BRC, or “Global Food Safety Standard,” was initiated and developed by the British Retail Consortium and has now become a critical threshold for suppliers seeking entry into the food industry. The IFS, or “International Food Standard,” was jointly established by the German Retailers Association and the French Retailers and Wholesalers Association. The European dual-certification system is one of the most internationally recognized and authoritative food standards certifications. This milestone signifies that Huikang Foods has reached global food quality system standards, earned international recognition, and achieved “world-class quality.” As a result, the geographic scope of our exports will expand significantly, directly propelling the upgrade of our “high-quality” strategy!
