The 10th Anniversary of the Beijing–Guangzhou High-Speed Railway Boosts the Accelerated Development of “Gu Yan Pre-made Dishes”
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the opening and operation of the Beijing–Guangzhou High-Speed Railway. As the nation’s busiest rail line in terms of passenger volume, the Beijing–Guangzhou HSR has brought tremendous convenience to cities along its route, bolstered the coordinated development of the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region, and helped integrate Shijiazhuang into the one-hour commuting circle surrounding the capital. Benefiting from the spillover effects of the Beijing–Guangzhou HSR, Shijiazhuang Huikang Food Co., Ltd. has accelerated its growth, a development that was highlighted on December 26, 2022, in CCTV-13’s “News Live Room” program.

Song Xiaoqing, Director of the Planning Center at Shijiazhuang Huikang Food Co., Ltd., was interviewed by CCTV News. She stated: “The opening of the high-speed rail has brought us unprecedented opportunities, further expanding the flow of people, goods, and information. Today, our products are available in more than 6,000 retail outlets across 117 cities nationwide, and our annual sales revenue has grown by over 30%. It is safe to say that we have fully benefited from the spillover effects of the Beijing–Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, which has also provided a solid framework for the company’s development.”
Shijiazhuang Huikang Food Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Huikang Food) was established in 1993 and has been deeply engaged in food manufacturing for nearly 30 years, making it one of the earliest domestic manufacturers to enter the pre-made meal industry. In 2017, Huikang Food was recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs as a “National Demonstration Enterprise in the Staple Food Processing Industry,” and in 2019 it was awarded the title of “National Key Leading Enterprise in Agricultural Industrialization” by the same ministry. In September 2022, the company took the lead in obtaining both BRC and IFS European certifications, becoming the first domestic pre-made meal enterprise to achieve dual European certification.

HuiKang Foods boasts robust R&D capabilities and has been recognized as a “High-Tech Enterprise,” the “Hebei Provincial Enterprise Technology Center,” the Hebei Provincial Pre-made Meal Technology Innovation Center, a “Municipal Engineering Technology Research Center,” and the Shijiazhuang Municipal Fruit, Vegetable, and Meat Deep-processing Technology Innovation Center. The company also possesses strong production capacity, with eight production workshops and more than ten automated production lines; notably, its GUYAN frozen pre-made meal production line is currently the most highly automated and longest in-line of its kind in China. With a daily production capacity of 160 metric tons and an annual output value of RMB 4 billion, HuiKang Foods stands as a leading, fully automated, integrated pre-made meal production base in China.

Guoyan Pre-made Meals, a brand under Shijiazhuang Huikang Food Co., Ltd., is among the first in China to adopt a “B2B + B2C” business model for pre-made meals. The company focuses on the R&D, production, and sales of pre-made dishes, committed to providing consumers with safe, healthy, convenient, and delicious options. Guoyan offers eight major product lines—Guoyan Meal Kits, Guoyan Mini Bowls, Jiebaiwei Meal Kits, Guoyan Family Feast Dishes, as well as Guoyan Ranch Beef, Crown Whole-Cut Steaks, and Ready-to-Eat products—comprising more than 150 individual items.

With a global outlook and deep roots in the domestic market, Guyan Pre-made Dishes has established a comprehensive sales network that seamlessly integrates online and offline channels, as well as supermarket, community, and catering outlets. Key online channels include Taobao, Tmall, JD.com, Suning.com, Alibaba, and Pinduoduo; major offline channels are concentrated in regions north of the Yangtze River; prominent supermarket channels comprise Walmart, Carrefour, Liqun, Aeon, Beiguo Supermarket, Pangdonglai Supermarket, Yonghui Supermarket, and Meishilin Supermarket; convenience-store channels are led by 36524 and Suning Xiaodian; catering-chain channels feature Jiutianjia and Niuzhe; and there are also numerous community-based sales channels.
Guidan’s pre-made dishes align with the trends of digitalization, networking, and intelligentization, and the company has built a robust e-commerce sales team. Guidan products consistently lead in sales across all online platforms, with its Tmall flagship store ranking first in its category for five consecutive years. Backed by superior product performance and consistent quality, Guidan has earned widespread acclaim from consumers.

Looking ahead, Wellcome Foods will accelerate the construction of Phase II of its pre-made meal production base. Upon completion of Phase II, the company’s annual output value is expected to reach RMB 10 billion, making it China’s largest integrated pre-made meal production base. The project will also set a benchmark for the industry by establishing a fully automated, high-tech production facility, thereby driving a new wave of standardized production in China’s emerging pre-made meal dining sector.
