On August 31, the “2018 Hebei Brand Agricultural Products Ten-Thousand-Li Tour” was launched in Beijing, hosted by the Hebei Provincial Department of Agriculture. The event was co-organized by the Hebei Provincial Department of Agriculture and the Rural Work Office of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, with the Baoding Municipal Agricultural Work Committee serving as the implementing body. Shijiazhuang Huikang Food Co., Ltd., as a representative of Hebei’s branded agricultural enterprises, showcased several best-selling products at the event, earning unanimous praise from attending leaders and channel partners.

At the meeting, Pang Yinlong, Deputy General Manager of the company, presented an overview to the attendees covering three key areas: industry trends, a company profile, and product introductions.

He noted that frozen meal kits represent an emerging product category, with fewer than 30 large-scale manufacturers nationwide. Yet the market potential for frozen meal kits is immense: in 2018, the food-delivery market surpassed RMB 280 billion, while the frozen meal-kit segment alone was valued at roughly RMB 30 billion. Riding the wave of the booming food-delivery industry, the meal-kit sector is poised to grow at an annual rate of 30%—and possibly even faster. Leveraging the robust expansion of the food-delivery market, frozen meal kits are set to become another blockbuster single-product category, following in the footsteps of instant noodles.

At the Hebei Agricultural Products Tasting Event held on-site, two of Beijing’s Top Ten Celebrity Chefs, accompanied by their apprentices, personally took to the kitchen to prepare dishes using Hebei ingredients. The company’s flagship product, beef tripe, was skillfully crafted by the chefs and presented as a signature Hebei specialty on the dining table. Meanwhile, General Manager Pang provided a comprehensive overview of the product, covering every stage—from raw-material selection and processing to R&D, production, and quality control.

According to reports, in order to open up the market for Hebei Province’s branded agricultural products in China’s first-tier cities, the Industrial Development Office of the Hebei Provincial Department of Agriculture has organized multiple community-based promotional events for these products in Beijing since 2017. In November last year, it successfully hosted a special promotion conference in Beijing dedicated to Hebei’s branded agricultural products, thereby facilitating connections between several leading enterprises and the Beijing consumer market. As a result of these concerted efforts, 15 stores within the Beijing Guoan Community now feature dedicated sections for Hebei’s branded agricultural products.

Leveraging this platform, Huikang Foods has aggressively expanded its presence in the Beijing market and has already established partnerships with numerous distribution channels. Its “rice bowl” meal kits have been introduced to many well-known tourist attractions in Beijing, as well as to the catering delivery networks serving high-end office workers at major railway stations, the Olympic Sports Center, the Water Cube, the Bird’s Nest, and other premium corporate dining venues.
